I think Daniel’s reaction is very common so I’ll respond. I am in no way justifying Trump’s action or making an apology for anybody who supports him. But look what you are saying: one person’s fears are somehow more valid than another person’s. The whole point I am trying to make is that fear just is. If I am afraid of spiders than no amount of reason is going to convince me otherwise. It’s incredibly frustrating dealing with an “irrational” fear of another person. But much less so when you imagine what it’s like to fear yourself. Fear just is. Feelings don’t have validity or not, they just exist.
