The 5 questions I ask my kids every day

Build the habit of parent-child communication early

Four questions

Don’t reinforce reluctance to communicate

Why these four questions?

1. Was anything bad about today? Anything that made you feel sad, or scared, or bored, or uncomfortable, or annoyed?

2. Was anyone bothering you today? Adult, kid, whomever?

3. What was the best part of today?

4. Who did you enjoy interacting with today?

5. Can I wash your butt?

Habit, habit, habit
